Did you Know?
August 2 was National Friendship Day! Originally created by Hallmark Cards in the 1930s to help us celebrate the people closest to us, it "soon became a bigger deal than originally planned when the 1935 U.S. Congress pronounced the first Sunday of August as National Friendship Day." Because humans are the most social beings on Earth, we have an inherent need to connect with others. So even though we're limited in our ability to get together in-person with friends right now, we should make time this month to get in touch with those who mean the most to us, and make sure they're doing well during these challenging times. Nicky de Champlain, Director of Sales, JPdL Québec
“Since the beginning of this humanitarian crisis, our Strategic Partnership with FICP has proven more than ever how valuable and significant it is. The importance of community is critical today. FICP takes it a step further: we are family. Families stick together through thick and thin. We have been able to share, to exchange, to compare and continued to stay connected, albeit the distance, through several virtual opportunities that FICP has offered during this challenging and difficult time. JPdL has been involved with FICP for more than 30 years and the rich and genuine relationships formed with our industry peers are the most beautiful aspect of this partnership.”

The prompt JPdL was asked to respond to, was in regards to a recent unique event experience that would be intriguing to FICP members. Had this been the start of the year, I would have shown you spectacular events produced in our destinations across Canada. However, March 2020 occurred and we are no longer in that reality. SO! Just like how COVID-19 is making us reimagine our industry, I am reimagining my response. Have a listen.
