Did You Know?
While candy hearts are now synonymous with the Valentine’s Day holiday in the U.S., they were originally intended to be medical lozenges. Oliver Chase, a Boston pharmacist, accidentally invented the first candy-making machine in 1847 and started mass-producing them.
