FICP’s partnerships with industry organizations allow us to deliver additional value to our community of meetings professionals and hospitality partners through both access to new content and opportunities to showcase and build thought leadership within the industry. The latter is one of the top priorities of FICP’s Influence Committee, which is tasked with establishing partnerships that support those objectives. Here is an example of one of these successful new partnerships.
As a member of the U.S. Travel Association and its Meetings Mean Business Coalition, FICP benefits from the latest research and reports in the travel sector, updates on U.S. Travel’s advocacy efforts, and economic outlooks to inform the FICP community how industry trends may affect them and their business. FICP also holds a seat at the table as part of the U.S. Travel Association’s Board of Directors.
U.S. Travel represents the collective strength of more than 1,200 member organizations growing the $1 trillion U.S. travel industry. Their mission is to increase travel to and within the United States. According to their research, the travel industry generates $2.5 trillion in economic output and supports 15.7 million American jobs. Although FICP represents a small slice of this impact, we are a part of something big and important, and the financial services and insurance industry is among the most impactful, respected and coveted sectors.
U.S. Travel’s goals are 1) to promote globalization over isolation; 2) ensure the U.S. remains a secure, welcoming destination for international and domestic travelers; and 3) ensure that travel is essential to the economy, business and cultural understanding.
While many of U.S. Travel’s initiatives are focused on individual travel, FICP’s affiliation with U.S. Travel keeps our community informed about important issues in the industry.
Below are some highlights of the most recent travel outlook from the U.S. Travel Association. Read the full report here.
