Did You Know?
In this edition of NewsNet, we're welcoming Fall! Every September, the Autumnal Equinox marks the day that the sun's trajectory perfectly aligns with the equator. In doing so, both the southern hemisphere and northern hemispheres experience a perfect half day of sun and a half day of night. In the northern hemisphere the autumnal equinox occurs on September 22nd, 23rd, or 24th each year. It also marks the official shift in seasons from Summer to Fall. As the air gets chillier and the leaves start to turn, how are you celebrating the arrival of Fall? Learn more about the Autumnal Equinox.

This exclusive gathering of change-makers and trailblazers in the meetings industry promises two days of in-depth conversation and problem-solving. Before gathering December 9-10 in Chicago, attendees will complete a survey to gauge interest on topics of conversation around management skills, corporate navigation, reverse mentorship, and more. If you are the most senior management professional within your company’s meeting planning department and have at least 10 years of meetings management experience, apply now to attend the 2019 FICP Strategic Leaders Event.

Help Support the Austin Community
FICP’s Silent Auction will benefit the Olin E. Teague Veterans’ Medical Center in Temple, Texas, and the Austin VA Outpatient Client in Austin, Texas. You can support the auction by donating a hotel stay, sports outing, small electronics, gift certificates and more. Donating is easy and can be done entirely online here.
Annual Conference Photo Directory Advertising Opportunity
Each year, FICP publishes a comprehensive printed Directory and an Annual Conference Photo Directory, both of which include detailed contact information for meetings professional members and hospitality partners. In addition to the directory listing recognition, FICP offers directory and website advertisement opportunities to hospitality partners. A hard copy, printed piece has longevity and heightened impact with audiences. Increase your company’s visibility in this go-to resource. Learn more about advertising opportunities.

Strategic Partner Profiles
Cindy Hoddeson
“This year marks 31 years since I attended my first FICP annual meeting (at the time called ICPA). FICP’s planner members and hospitality partners are among the most professional people I have met during my career. Membership and strategic partnerships have afforded me invaluable learning and networking opportunities which have enabled me to offer products and services better suited to the needs of this business sector."
