Destination Vancouver is the non-profit, member-led destination management organization for the spectacular city of Vancouver, BC. Our purpose is to transform our communities and our visitors through the power of travel and to be thoughtful leaders, advocates and ambassadors for our city. We work with our 800+ members and our partners in Vancouver's visitor economy to develop compelling experiences and offerings for our visitors and to promote Vancouver in key Canadian, US, and international markets. The responsibility to build a sustainable and resilient visitor economy is the foundation of everything we do.

Vancouver, the founding home of Greenpeace, has the smallest carbon footprint of any major city in North America, making eco-mindedness a natural state of being. The city features the world's first double-Platinum LEED certified convention centre and 50 Green Key Global hotels. Vancouver is committed to reducing its environmental impact, aiming for a 50% reduction in carbon pollution by 2030, achieving zero waste by 2040, and relying entirely on renewable energy sources by 2050.

What accomplishment from the past 12 months is Destination Vancouver most proud of?

Vancouver was named in TIME's World's Greatest Places awards, their annual listing of 50 extraordinary travel destinations around the world. To compile the list, TIME solicited nominations of places—including countries, regions, cities and towns—from its international network of correspondents and contributors, with an eye toward those offering new and exciting experiences. Vancouver was recognized for its eclectic cuisine and diverse dining landscapes.
